The West Tamar Pony & Riding Club caters for riders of all ages, and for riders of any experience from complete beginners to the experienced rider. Young riders should be able to control their pony at a walk and trot, or be on a lead rein.
West Tamar Pony & Riding Club strives to achieve the aims of the Pony Club movement which are:
To encourage young people to ride and to learn all kinds of sport concerned with horses and riding.
To provide instruction in riding and horsemastership and to instill in members the proper care of their animals.
To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.
For new Pony Club members, there is a three month introduction period, where riders can attend three rallies before deciding whether to join as a member. During this introductory period it is necessary for riders to pay a $50 insurance fee via Omnisport.
If you or your child wishes to join our Club at the end of that period, it will be necessary to pay an annual subscription fee. This fee includes the PCAT affiliation and insurance fees.
Our annual fees are due in July.
Members do not vote until they reach the age of 18 years, but parents as family members may vote on any matters concerning the club.
